How Somatic Therapy, Stretch Therapy, and Sex Therapy Work Together
At New Reflections Therapeutic Services, we offer a holistic, trauma-informed, and intimacy-centered approach to healing. Through advanced training as an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, Certified Somatic Therapy Foundations Practitioner, and Certified Stretch Therapist, I integrate the physical, emotional, and relational components of intimacy into every part of the therapeutic process.
Sex therapy focuses on communication, desire, pleasure, sexual functioning, and emotional safety. Somatic therapy helps clients reconnect with their bodies, release trauma, and restore nervous system balance. Stretch therapy adds a grounding, touch-based component that deepens trust, calms the body, and strengthens connection.
Together, these modalities help individuals and couples:
- Rebuild trust after disconnection or betrayal
- Increase emotional closeness and sexual satisfaction
- Heal from sexual shame, trauma, or avoidance
- Improve communication about needs, boundaries, and desires
- Feel more confident and comfortable in their body
- Rekindle desire, pleasure, and connection at any stage of the relationship
This mind-body framework is the foundation of my Touch, Talk, Trust® philosophy, where safety, connection, and intimacy grow through presence, openness, and embodied healing. This philosophy is the foundation of my integrated approach, combining Sex Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Stretch Therapy to support emotional, physical, and relational well-being.
