In a clinical world still learning how to hold space for male vulnerability, this 3 hour course offers therapists, couples, and individuals a brave, evidence-informed path forward. This is an invitation into a nuanced and compassionate exploration of sexual shame, unhealed trauma, and negative body image in male clients. It will also explore how these deeply personal issues show up within intimate relationships as emotional distance and sexual disorders like erectile dysfunction. This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification.
This course will provide practical, trauma-informed tools for recognizing hidden expressions of shame, fostering body neutrality, and integrating somatic and consent-based practices in couples therapy. Special attention is given to the impact of cultural narratives on male sexuality and how to build emotional safety in therapeutic conversations.
After the course, you will be more equipped with tools that honor the unique healing process of men, while empowering couples to reconnect in more emotionally attuned and embodied ways.
